. Chaman Lal , Dr Tan Chun Hoe & Dr. Muhammad Zia UL Haq

Abstract

Post-injection sciatic nerve injury (PISNI) is a rare but potentially devastating complication that can occur following intramuscular injections, particularly in pediatric patients. While generally considered a minor risk, the incidence and long-term consequences of PISNI in children are often underestimated, leading to delayed diagnosis and inadequate management in primary care settings.(1) This narrative review explores the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic challenges, management strategies, and the impact of post-injection sciatic nerve injury in pediatric patients, highlighting the importance of early recognition and proper management in primary care settings.(2)
